Next week the council’s Cabinet will pass a report on the roll out of broadband across the county. I am continuing to push for a better service for residents at Finchale Abbey Village who have been putting up with almost non-existent services for the last few years. I am told that officers are pushing BT Openreach on technical issues, but I hope to bring this to the attention of Cabinet next week, as clearly more pressure needs to be put on to get this sorted out. Repeated emails which I have sent to BT as well as presure from residents have so far not been fruitful. Residents are lucky if they are getting 0.3mb broadband, just a mile from Durham City. Crazy when I can get nearly 40mb in Pity Me.
